Make Music Finale 2008 Key Generator Problem Please Help ME!

I am having a very peculiar problem
I had downloaded Make Music Finale 2008 Software CD from the Net, with the key-generator. I was using Windows XP Crystal Edition 2007 earlier and now i am uisng Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Patched from Service Pack 1).
Now my problem is that the key generator is not at all starting, and it also shows the following erroe message"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access the item" The item is in my desktop. I tried every possible way to solve the problem but none is of no avail, Indeed visiting and posting in Microsoft Help & Support site is also not going well...
The key generator is working fine in other computers, and also in Microsoft VISTA also...
